All books.A few years ago torrential rains caused the collapse of the ceiling in our home. Almost all of our books were destroyed. Devestated, we began the impossible task of trying to replace an extensive personal library. Many of the books were out of print and rare--not on a collector's level, but hard to find.
In the process of scouring bookstores, online booksites, thrift stores and estate sales we discovered a wealth of new and used books. Ecstatic, we went into a book-buying frenzy and had soon surpassed our previous library's size. Though we still haven't replaced some of our treasured books, we now have more books than we have room for; and we're still buying books--old books, new books, beautiful books.
We were never collector's in the sense that we only saw value in first editions or one-of-a-kind books. To us, all books are beautiful. Now we rescue them wherever we find them. Some are valuable first editions or rare collectibles, but most are just good reads at a good price.
